Racing Dinghies

Attila has always been very interested in sailing and flying, and has studied fluid mechanics and aerodynamics for already seven years. He wanted to design a racing dinghy that would be fast and easy to control. He transformed the mast-system and put the mast at the back of the boat so not to disturb the aerodynamic lift on the sails. Having two sails behind each other meant the sails could be trimmed to the most optimal profile. His primary innovation concerned the moving of the centre-board. The centre-board is not moved up and down along the axis in accordance with its outside position, so that the centre-board on the luff turns in the hull, so that it is bound together with the centre-board on the other side. By this way of turning, the centre-board on lee pushes out the centre-board from the hull. Due to this the centre-board does not occupy deck space and moving it requires only the minimum of human effort in the lightest of winds.
