Curie

The group "Curie" is named after the French-Polish chemist/physicist Marie Curie (1867-1934), recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics 1903 (with Pierre Curie) "in recognition of the extraordinary services they have rendered by their joint researches on the radiation phenomena discovered by Professor Henri Becquerel" and Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1911 "in recognition of her services to the advancement of chemistry by the discovery of the elements radium and polonium, by the isolation of radium and the study of the nature and compounds of this remarkable element".

Lisa Hagqvist Lisa Hagqvist is the student helper responsible for "Curie"

Lisa studies medicine at Uppsala University. She is originally from Trollhättan. Lisa has been co-organiser of the Nordic Youth Science Weeks (NORNA) in Stockholm several years, but moved on to become teacher of molecular biology at the youth week this year. She also served as leader of Trollhättan Youth Science Club. Lisa sits on the executive board of the Swedish Federation of Young Scientists and was its vice president 1999-2000.
